Kathmandu. According to data released by Nepal Rastra Bank, remittances received in Nepal this fiscal year have exceeded Rs 12 trillion.

This is 15 percent more than the previous year. The most remittances came from Malaysia, Gulf countries, and South Korea where Nepali migrants work.

The Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank said, "Remittances have become the backbone of Nepal's economy. This growth is encouraging."
