Kathmandu. The government has announced the expansion of the national health insurance program to cover more citizens.

Under this program, an additional 7 million citizens will be able to receive free medical treatment of up to Rs 500,000 per year covering major illnesses.

The Health Minister said, "Our goal is to bring all Nepali citizens under health insurance coverage by 2030."
