Kathmandu/Geneva. International studies have shown that Himalayan glaciers are melting faster than expected, raising serious concerns.
According to a World Glacier Monitoring Service report, Himalayan glaciers are thinning by an average of 45 centimeters per year, accelerating over recent decades.
This has increased the risk of Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOF) in Nepal. Experts have urged the government to prepare for potential disasters caused by glacial melting.
